How to Care for an Iguana
Depending on the size of the iguana, you will need a 30 – 50 gallon aquarium. Iguanas can grow up to 4-6 feet long, so it will outgrow the aquarium pretty fast. You will need to provide a UVB producing fluorescent tube light, a basking lamp and cage furniture. Provide proper food for it, including collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens and dandelion greens as a base, with peas and orange or yellow squash, and sweet potatoes as a side. It will also need a calcium supplement without D3 added. You will also need 2 thermometers and a thermostat device. Iguanas need to be warm to digest their food so the temperature in the aquarium needs to be about 80 degrees F with a hot spot at 90 degrees F at one end.
