How to calculate distance from acceleration-time graph?
Take a double integral basically. Integrate the acceleration-time graph to get the velocity. integrate the velocity to get the DISPLACEMENT. if you dont know calculus then you need to sketch the velocity-time graph from the acceleration-time graph. the area under the velocity-time graph is the DISPLACEMENT of the object.
Obtain the area under the acceleration-time graph. Divide this area by the time period ‘t’ in which this acceleration took place. This will give the average acceleration ‘a’. Distance = 1/2 * a * t^2. If the object had an initial velocity u , in that case the distance covered is = u*t + 1/2 * a * t^2.
