well, if you can onto the pc, but with things like Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del or Ctrl+Shift+Esc) are “..disabled by the admin..”, you wont need to reformat anything – just hit the Windows Key+R, type “gpedit.msc” and hit enter – then a window called “Group Policies” or something like that should pop up – click User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Ctrl Alt Delete options > select Remove Task Manager > double click the Remove Task Manager option Another Option (the first didnt work for me) is to hit Windows Key+R and type “regedit.exe” and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ System And in the right pane, delete “Disable Task Mgr” – you should be good to go! (and if you cant log on at all, then you may have to resort to reformatting/reinstalling the OS.. sry!

If you are trying to access the Windows Recovery Console of an Windows XP CD and it’s asking you for an administrator password, you could also try to leave it blank and just push ENTER. Sometimes the administrator password is blank and you just have to push enter to access the recovery console.
