How to build custom furniture?/How will my handmade kitchen dresser be built?
All kitchen dressers are made from hardwood frame construction, Firstly quality timber is selected, surfaced then planed to size. This timber is then joined together using traditional mortice and tennon joints to make the kitchen dresser frames. These joins are then glued and left to dry before being dressed and finished with an elegant staff bead. After this process is complete, the kitchen dresser frames are then attached to the kitchen dresser carcasses and each of the mortice and tennon made doors are individually fit and swung on solid brass hinges. Next the kitchen dresser drawers are made starting with hand picked redwood, which again is surfaced, planed to size before being dovetailed and glued together creating a strong lasting joint. The drawers are then lacquered and mounted upon soft close drawer runners. The final process involves 2 coats of white primer being applied to the kitchen dresser before being hand painted and finally finished with a hard wearing clear varnish. V
