You can use a drip irrigation system. If the landscape is basically level then you only need to consider the plants and how much water they need. Suppose you have a garden with just one plant in it. Yeah, I know, that’s absurd, but follow along. Suppose it needs a fairly dry watering. Let’s assume it needs one quart every three days. Using a timer you can turn the water on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday (for instance). The drip system will deliver one quart of water every weekday you tell it to.
