How to build a solid Linkedin network?
Colby I have focused my effort to build a solid network in four ways. First I answer all the questions, that I have time to, related to my areas of expertise. This is a fun way to meet new people on Linked in and find others with common interests. Second I check the profiles of interesting people in the network and find a way to engage them in a discussion. Third I have posted a few specific questions related to what I do that I have either yet to solve or have an idea how to approach but have not yet executed. For example in my field of manufacturing I am constantly challenged to bring continuous improvement projects in and execute them. I have asked questions related to this and found many other CI experts participating in Linked In Answers forum. Finally I make a concerted effort to get to know those people who I have linked with either by email conversation, phone conversation or in person meetings.
