How to be really graceful?
I was very tall for my age–5’11” in 9th grade–and I was always feeling awkward, gangly, knock-kneed, whatever! My legs were too long for my body and I felt like I had no balance. I asked my entirely graceful and petite mother and grandmother for help. Besides starting dance classes, I regularly practiced the following(under my mom’s or grandma’s watchful eye)! Walking: do it with a book on your head, for real–it makes you stand very straight and improves your balance–and my mom always made me wear a fitted pencil skirt and heels because it makes you take smaller more mincing steps–which in turn helps your balance and gives you that nice sexy sway at the hip you saw in all the 40’s and 50’s glamorous movie stars. Slow down! Truly graceful women hurry without appearing to hurry. Movements should be effortless and languid. Not everyone is born with this–so the rest of us make the committment and practice, practice, practice. Sitting gracefully: You keep your body straight, bend at t
