How to be a lifeguard at raging waters?
You need to contact Raging Waters directly in order to find out their specific requirements. It may be that they hire persons with American Red Cross certifications. However, they may be one of many water parks that require the Ellis & Associates certificate. Both programs are comparible in difficulty and length of time to complete. Some Water Parks even provide the training themselves, so it is best to ask them specifically. Generally, you must already be 15 years old before the start of class, be able to swim 500 yards continuously (front crawl and/or breastroke), be able to tread water for two minutes and be able to retrieve a 10-pound weight from 9 feet deep water before entering the class. It is very helpful if you are an expereinced swimmer who is comfortable in the water and can do sidestroke and elementary backstroke, and can do a racing type dive.
