How to be a good running back?
1. Master the fundamentals. A good running back has a well established foundation of skills such as running, jumping, and ball control. 2. Get faster! It doesn’t matter if you’re a big fullback who runs people over with ease or a small halfback who can escape from 3 blockers. Every running back can use a little more speed. 3. Get into the weight room. Using weights helps with speed, agility and power. 4. Practice at least 3 times a week on drills to get better. Things such as jumping rope, jogging/sprinting, and actually playing help increase your athletic ability and make you a better running back overall. 5. Remember to have fun! It is just a game and it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get as good as you want to be. It may simply be that your expectations are too high. Remember: Rome was not built in one day. some of the drills the coach will probably have you do are ladder drills to test your lateral mobility, speed drills, catching drills to see how good your hands will be
