How to apply travel permit to Tibet?
According to Chinese law, foreign travelers are required to apply for certain permits before visiting Tibet. How to apply for a Tibet Entry Permit: 1. All the holders of ordinary passports are required to apply for a Tibet Entry Permit if they plan to travel in Tibet. 2. Foreign travelers can ask an international travel agency to apply for a Tibet Entry Permit by sending them the first page of a valid passport and a copy of their Chinese visa by fax or by email. The applicant will be asked for the occupation (Foreign journalists and diplomats are not allowed to go to Tibet as a tourist), then the travel agency will apply for the Tibet entry permit with all the documents. Finally foreign tourist can buy tickets and travel in Tibet in a designated tour group. How to apply for a Border Area Travel Permit: Foreign tourists are required to apply for a Border Area Travel Permit if they plan to travel to Medog, Zham, Gro Mo, Tingri, Ngari. Travel agencies can apply for the permit.
