How to acclimate a dog to a cat?
We have three dogs and eight cats, some of the cats play with the dogs, and others hiss. Much depends on the cat personality. But you need to take control of the lab. You need make it clear that you are the leader of the pack and that the pack includes the cats. The dog can be trained to not chase the cat, but you have to be very firm. We trained an adult Chow mix (from the pound) to live with cats by leashing the dog when not home, and being very discplined about controlling the dog when of the leash to not chase the cat. good luck.
