How tight a curve can a light rail trains take?
Light rail trains can turn within the intersection of two normal width streets. However, they must slow down to do so and the wheels may squeal, annoying bystanders and residents. METRO prefers to acquire a small amount of land in the corner of the intersection to allow a broader curve. There are two examples of this on the Main Street line, at Braeswood & Greenbriar and at Braeswood & Fannin. See fig. 4.
