Must local building codes call for 4″ of 3,000 to 3,500 psi concrete in sidewalks or pedestrian walks. This of course, must go on top of a tamped earth. Two inches of ¾” crushed stone as our base. Tamp tight and pour four inches . In the driveway, we also tamp the earth first, and then install four to six inches of crushed stone. Tamp stone tight to earth and install 9 gauge steel wire flats on three lifts. Pour six inches of 3500 psi concrete.
