How thick should the finished asphalt be?

0

After compaction, you should expect your driveway to have an even, two inch (2 in.) layer of asphalt. However, it may be necessary to have it thicker in some places, like in areas where the asphalt must be flush with walkways or concrete. Likewise, the asphalt may be slightly under two inches in some areas, depending on the direction we want the water to flow in. As a general practice, we try not to spread the asphalt by hand, which often gives an uneven thickness as a result. We rely on all the proper equipment to control the spreading of even asphalt.
