How thick should a slab of concrete be for a patio, sidewalk or driveway?

The normal thickness is the height of a standard 2″ x 4″ (about 3 1/2″). Thinner sections will crack too easily. When using smaller sections like with the QUIKRETE® Walk Maker®, a thickness of 2″ is adequate.
