How thick is ice on a skating rink?
If it’s an indoor skating rink, there is actually no water below you. Typically, they are made like hockey rinks, by spraying sheets of water over and over on a freezing surface (the rink itself) and it gets thicker as it freezes. They usually are a little more than one inch thick. Outdoor skating rinks are more unpredictable if they’re on lakes or ponds, where the ice can be anywhere from one to several inches thick, or extremely thin.
