How “theory” of atom developed over time?

0

Well im not a real physics historian but as far as i know it was first in the time of ancient Greece when the idea formed that everything was formed from continuous objects- fire, earth, water + wind, Than it wasnt until the early 20th century that real headway was made into the developing the theory of atoms-but it was a very controvertial topic and the scientific community was split between those who believed in atoms and those who didnt. The real irrefutable proof of the existence of atoms came with the discovery of radioactivity when other models were not adequtae.
