Are you sure that the USB flash disk is write-protected? Or is it just the file. With Windows Explorer, look for that file on the USB flash disk, Right click on it, and pick PROPERTIES. Then UNCHECK the box that says Read Only By the way, I recommend that you COPY a file from your USB flash disk to your Hard Drive and modify it there. Then COPY the file BACK to your USB flash drive. You see, a flash device is somewhat limited. When you open it directly with your Word Processor, it trys to Save and Save and Save again. It creates all kinds of havoc and temporary files. Copying data to a flash devices should be an all at once DELIBRATE action on your part. This will help your USB flash device to work for many many years.
