How tests can find out the cause of sodium losing in the body?
As what I know, pointing out the cause of losing sodium (hyponatremia) is not that difficult. The mechanisms of fluid and electrolyte balance of the body has been well defined and understood.It could due to any of the following causes: faulty water metabolism, renal related, adrenal gland related, thyroid gland related, gastrointestinal tract disturbances, side effects of some medicine and other substances,etc. Anyway, the person you are referring to could possibly be one of the unusual or strange cases. I hope her doctors can arrive to what is causing her condition. I also read your previous question posted and as what I can suspect, her condition is most likely associated with a certain kind of infection as she was having symptoms such as high fevers.
