The ideal height for a buck is 19 to 20 inches at the withers with a maximum height of 23 inches for animals registered with NDGA and 23.6 inches for animals registered with AGS. Animals which exceed the height limit are not competitive in the show ring and are questionable as breeding stock. The average weight of an adult Nigerian should be around 75 pounds.
