Suzy Amis (born January 5, 1962) is an American film actress and former model. Career Amis, a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was at the height of her career advertised as “the face of the 1980s”. One-time Ford model and Actors Studio graduate Amis made her film debut in Fandango (1985). While making the film, she met her future husband, actor Sam Robards (born 1961), the son of actor Jason Robards Jr. and actress Lauren Bacall, to whom she was married between 1985 and 1993. She followed Fandango with an off-Broadway appearance in Fresh Horses and next appeared in a film role as an unprepossessing “goody-two-shoes” in The Big Town (1987). She later appeared as the titular heroine of The Ballad of Little Jo (1993), portraying a young woman who passes herself off as a man to survive a harsh existence in the Old West.
