How successful have recently retired soldiers (officers & enlisted) been in transitioning to civilian employment?
My brother is a Marine reservist. He finds work doing what he’s trained to do in the military as a civilian on local bases & gets paid a lot more than he would as a full-time active duty. He hopes to someday do training for what he does. My father was in the air force and now works for an airline. His knowledge of different destinations & airports was helpful in preparing him for this post-retirement job. I know a lot of retired military turn to teaching, as well.
