How successful have recent graduates been in finding jobs after residency?
Our graduates have been uniformly successful in finding employment, even in the competitive San Francisco Bay Area job market. Many choose to stay in Northern California, and the majority choose to stay with Kaiser Permanente. As the largest single employer of physicians in Northern California, Kaiser Permanente offers many opportunities for internists in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Several of our graduates, who continued into subspecialty fellowships, as well as preliminary interns after their chosen residency, have returned to faculty positions within Kaiser Permanente. A number of our graduates have joined other medical groups in the San Francisco Bay Area and in other parts of the country.
