How strong is the conservative nature of the economics department at UChicago?
Like at most universities, the economics department has historically been fairly conservative. In recent years though, there has been a slight move away from the Milton Friedman economic ideologies for more ‘liberal’ ideas. Ultimately, this just means that you can find both ideologies and have a fairly balanced education.
