How strong are modern-day porcelain crowns?

0

Answer Porcelain is quite strong and rarely chips without trauma ie:biting on something other than food. The issue is not how strong the restorative material is, rather how strong the REMAINING tooth structure supporting the restoration is.Once you have crowns it would be wise to stay away from chewy sticky things like Taffy,NowandLater, etc. These could dislodge a crown under the right circumstances.Otherwise you could eat whatever you like in comfort.
