How stable are SnapGear appliances?
The hardware is estimated to have a MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of around 50,000 hours (approximately 5 years). The operating system inside the units is based upon Linux which often has a stable uptime of the order of several years. Generally you should be able to set up your unit and forget about it except to update it for changing network conditions or new firmware updates that meet your particular requirements.
