How soon will a home pregnancy test be relatively accurate?
Every woman is different, so unfortunately it will be hard for you to get a certain on this. Some tests claim they can tell as early as five days before your expected period. If you are regular, that might help. My periods are all over the map, so I would spend two weeks doing pregnancy tests before I knew anything! I never knew when I was approaching my “expected” period. As you’ve probably read, the tests measuer the level of HCG in your body, a hormone that indicates pregnancy. Some women produce a lot of it early in their pregnancy, but I have heard of others who did not get a positive result until they were well into their first or second trimester! Anyways, don’t waste time and worry by testing earlier than three days before your expected period. At that point, buy several tests. If one comes out negative, wait a couple of days or a week to do another (or get a blood test at your doctor after you miss your period). Good luck!
