The observer will contact the provider/center and set up a “window” for the observations — a period of several days that are mutually convenient for both the assessor and the provider/center. This window will be a period during which all eligible (not necessarily selected) settings/classrooms would be available for observation. The day before the observer comes for each observation (a day within the agreed-upon “window”) she will contact the provider/center to confirm that she will be coming the next day to observe either the entire home setting or one of the selected classrooms. It would be ideal if the actual classroom to be observed were not revealed until the assessor actually arrives at the center; however, we may be willing to let the center know which specific classroom will be observed during the contact confirming date of observation.
