It is perfectly safe to drive when you no longer are on prescription pain meds and feel up to it. Insurance has nothing to do with it. I have had 2 c-sections. I was driving 2 week after the first one and within the week after the second one. As long as you are comfortable with turning you body around and are not on pres. pain meds, it should be fine. My doctor even says it is perfectly safe after 2 weeks.

2 weeks assuming you are off pain meds and it doesn’t hurt to twist like you would to check your blind spot. As long as those conditions are met, two weeks is about right. I’ve had two babies via c-section, and less than a week before my second was born my husband had surgery on his right knee, so neither of us could drive for two weeks after (actually it was longer for him, but we needed a lot of help at first).
