How soon can I expect to receive my rebate cheque from the Ontario government once I have completed my pre-retrofit audit?

A. In general, we expect it to take less than three weeks to issue provincial rebate cheques once we’ve received the relevant files from the federal government, which licenses and receives audit and retrofit records from the service organizations that provide home energy evaluations. For those of you who are among the more than 25,000 Ontarians who participated in the audit and retrofit programs over the second half of 2007, we are pleased to confirm you should receive your rebate shortly. The first cheques were mailed on January 25, and getting the remaining refunds out is our highest priority. Cheques are being processed according to who has been waiting the longest. Before we began to issue the rebates, we needed to have an agreement in place with the federal government to protect your personal information. That’s important as this program will handle thousands of applications from Ontarians over the next few years. That agreement is now in place.
