The reversibility of Norplant implants is one of the important advantages of the method. Once the implants are removed, the contraceptive effect wears off quickly (within two to three days). The woman can become pregnant as rapidly as she would have if she had used another reversible method or if she had used no method during the time Norplant was inserted in her arm.
