no the baby has to be born first It is possible to have one done from an amniocentesis but as there is a risk of miscarriage, unless an amnio is being done for another reason you should wait until after the birth.

You can have a test done between 11 and 23 weeks of pregnancy by a CVS sample or amniotic fluid. You just need to find a physician who is willing to perform the procedure as there is a risk of miscarriage of 1% or less. You can have cord blood tested at the time the baby is born. The delivery doctor or midwife would collect cord blood and send it to the AABB accredited lab along with the mother and alleged father’s DNA mouth swab. Or you can swab the inside of anyone’s mouth at any age-even premature babies.

After the baby’s born it can be done right away, since it’s just a cottonw swab on the baby’s cheek, no more needles or anything. So if the father is available right away then do it right there and then.
