How soon after a c-section can I have a bath?

I had a c-section last Sunday and was told to wait 6 weeks before a bath. I miss baths too but my health is more important.

Don’t take a bath, be a naturist, join the earth, and muddle in your dirt. No I’m just kidding, unless your doctor tell you, It’s perfectly fine when you stitches are healed.

I would wait until you are COMPLETELY healed, no open wounds, leakage, or lochia. Usually 6-8 weeks after a C. You do not want to run the risk of any type of infection.

I am glad that you are feeling good. NO, you may NOT take a bath….that is a HUGE risk for infection!!!!!!!! You should not have a bath for 6 wks….the same “rule” applies as nothing in the vagina for 6 weeks…..realize it or not when you sit down in the bath water does go into the vagina. For your health’s sake wait for the ok from your doc. In due time you can have your much deserved bath, but please play it safe, rather than sorry. Good luck!!
