How Smart is the Artificial Intelligence?
T.A.R.A. gets smarter every single day. At the end of the day, she creates a list of questions that she doesn’t think that she answered very well. Human programmers try to teach her correct responses. As of this writing it can handle approximately 4,000 different subjects and it knows 20,000 words. How was T.A.R.A. Programmed? Tara was written in a language called AIML (artificial intelligence markup language). AIML is a PERL based application. The basic code for T.A.R.A. came from A.L.I.C.E. the world’s greatest artificial intelligence chatbot and multi-time winner of the Loebner prize for AI’s. Is T.A.R.A. a real therapist? T.A.R.A. is not a real therapist. It is just a conversational tool that is designed to offer a therapy-like experience anytime, anywhere. We hope that it will convince more people that therapy services can benefit them in their life. Our goal is to help more people find the mental help assistance they may need.
