How small can a SEP engagement be?
BSCoE considers at all the practices we recommend as part of the development cycle. Using PEAR, using our recommended Frameworks, and using the SEP are all activities that can vary greatly in scope depending on your project’s size. We rarely hear said, “We have tight deadlines, so we are just going to skip coding” or “This is a small temporary application, so we will skip coding.” Yet we hear, “We have tight deadlines, so we are just going to skip architecture, analysis, and design” every week. We can help you get to a place where using the SEP can increase your development productivity no matter how small your project. On the BSCoE team we frequently conduct one-person development efforts using the SEP to do architecture, analysis, and design.
