How significant is Laclede Countys meth problem?
Laclede County like most other rural areas throughout Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas has experienced a significant meth problem over the past decade. While the number of labs in Missouri was reduced by some 50% last year due to the law that now controls pseudoephedrine sales, Missouri Highway Patrol still reports over 1200 small labs discovered in 2006 which is a significant number of labs in anyones book. Meanwhile, meth continues to come into the state from super labs in Mexico and California, which produce a much stronger product than the small labs.
