How should we sign up for band since they are in the process of going through auditions and don know which band to request?
Students should sign-up for the class they want (e.g. concert band.) The music teachers will give counselors a final list after the auditions are complete and they adjust schedules as needed. Per the music dept: 8th Graders will audition for placement into concert or varsity band in May. They will need to play a prepared etude (to be handed out in class), scales, sight-read, and perform clap it, tap it, say it exercises which are from the 8th grade method book. Students should make their best guess as to whether they will end up in Varsity or Concert and schedule accordingly. Then we will provide lists to the counselors after the audition to determine final placement.Students and Parents should Remember: all bands combine to form one marching band in the fall.
