How should we be disposing of the empty paint cans, aerosol cans, and empty oil containers?
Empty paint and aerosol cans can go into the regular garbage. It’s actually the paint, in liquid form, that is the considered the “special” waste. Empty oil containers should be well drained and put into the garbage. The oil containers cannot be recycled due to leftover oil residue. Therefore, no need to stockpile. 2. Norfolk County used to have a Bulky Pick Up Day every spring. What happened to it? The bulky pick up day has been put on a rotational schedule of three (3) years, with the last being held in the Spring of 2006. On the years that the bulky pick up day does not occur, Norfolk Countyholds $7 days at the Simcoe and South Walsingham Transfer Station during certain advertised weeks in the fall. $7 days are days when the public can bring their waste to the transfer stations and pay a flat rate of $7 per tonne. 3.
