How should the panniers be packed?
Clothing and personal items can be packed inside the panniers. First, line each pannier with a large garbage bag. Most panniers are not waterproof, so this is very important for keeping its contents dry. Even on a sunny day campers have to put all their clothes in the bags. They can replace the bags during the trip as needed. To pack, roll their clothes and stuff them into the panniers. Distribute the weight evenly between the panniers. Pack most commonly used items on the top of the bags, such as: mess kit (for lunch), raincoat, sunscreen, bathing suit and towel and your lock. The sleeping bag, sleeping pad and camping equipment will be strapped on top of the panniers and on the rack.
