A. The Listening component of the NYSESLAT may be signed to a student with a hearing impairment provided that signing is indicated as a testing accommodation in the student’s IEP or 504 Plan. If the student with the hearing impairment is not proficient in sign language, he or she may be permitted to read the listening passages provided that this accommodation is indicated in the IEP or 504 Plan. The listening passages are provided in the teachers Directions for Administration (DFA).
