How should the Instructional Level be handled on the Update form?
The Data Dictionary, Section I, page 1-16, instructs us to use the highest Instructional Level obtained during the student’s time in a particular class during the program year. It is not necessarily the last test administered, but the highest during the program year. The level is based on the highest score from either Reading or Math tests. Instructional Level on the Entry form is different than an Update. (Data Dictionary, Section I, page 1-10) On the Entry form, the Data Dictionary instructs us to use the lowest Instructional Level at the time of Class Entry. The teacher gives the Math and Reading tests. Whichever score is lower is the basis for selecting the Instructional Level on the Entry form. Is it necessary to complete a new Entry Record when a student moves from one Instructional Level (Field 18) to another?
