How should the funds awarded, from the grants, be spent?
These funds are intended for the planning phase of HIE in Illinois and will put our state in a better position to leverage future federal funds. In general terms, grant money should be used to: develop a governance structure; build social capital; forge data-sharing agreements; engage clinicians; identify barriers; and begin work with your newly formed cooperative to overcome those barriers.
