How should the freeze-dried food be prepared for consumption?
Freeze-dried dishes have to be hydrated before consumption. Just put the dry product in a bowl, add hot water, cover and wait a few minutes as all components are hydrated and soft, stirring from time to time. The dish is ready for consumption after about 5 minutes. Dishes containing meat take more time – around 10 minutes, or even up to 15 if the pieces of meat are big. If you have to save water, or no washing up facilities you can make the dish directly in its bag. Cut the bag, add the correct amount of water, stir, close the bag and wait until the dish is ready for consumption. Be careful, as the bag will be very hot!!!
