How should The collectivization of agriculture under Stalin be characterized ?
Simply put, collectivization of agriculture under Stalin amounted to taking land away from private land owners and put it in the hands of the state to do with as they wished. It never worked. It resulted in a massive amount of deaths due to hunger of his fellow “Comrades”. For many years the United States sold millions of tons of wheat to the USSR. We had too much and the USSR didn’t have nearly enough. There are pictures of people lined up around the block in USSR cities just to buy bread.
