How should students use radiation weighting factors and tissue weighting factors?
Students should convert absorbed dose to equivalent dose by multiplying the absorbed dose by the radiation weighting factor/s. (Note: ‘Radiation weighting factor’ is of similar meaning to the superseded term ‘quality factor’.) Students should convert equivalent dose to effective dose by multiplying the equivalent dose by the tissue weighting factor/s.
