How should prescription drug services rendered within a medical claim be represented?

0

Any prescription drug services that are rendered as part of the medical claim should be included in the medical claim file and be represented using an appropriate revenue code (MC054) and/or J-code reported in the CPT field (MC055). It is understood that prescription drug claims identified through a revenue code will not have an associated NDC code to indicate the specific drug dispensed. Also, it is understood that these claims/claim lines will not be present in the prescription drug claims.
