Therefore it’s needed to change some default settings, because otherwise Internet Explorer 8 will render local websites differently than websites on the Internet. Go to the “Tools” menu and click on “Compatibility View Settings”. Now deselect the option “Display intranet sites in Compatibility View”. Verify that the option “Display all websites in Compatibility View” isn’t selected and deselect it if needed. Also check if the list below “Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View:” is empty. Then click the “Close”-button. Now go to the “Tools” menu and click on “Internet Options”. Then click on the “Advanced”-tab. Scroll to the “Browsing”-options. Deselect the option “Automatically recover from page layout errors with Compatibility View”. If you want you can also customize other options, like “Disable script debugging”, “Display a notification about every script error” and “Show friendly HTTP error messages”. Finally click on “OK”.
