How should I treat maternity leave, extended sick leave and sabbatical?
Extended Sick leave & Compassionate Leave- If you are away for the whole period of the collection then you should ask your administrator to set your status to non-active. Maternity- Time spent on maternity leave should not be recorded on your TAS return. If you are on maternity leave for the entire period of the collection then ask your TAS administrator to set your status to inactive for the collection. If however you were working for part of the collection period then you should only take into account your activities during this time when you complete our TAS return. Staff who are on maternity leave whilst returns are being completed and collected are unavailable to complete a return and so should have their status set to non-active. Sabbatical- Paid sabbatical leave is considered as study leave therefore it should be recorded as own funded research (R1).
