How should I take Flovent Diskus?
When you first take out the Flovent Diskus out of the box and foil pouch, write the “pouch opened” and “use by” date on the label in the spaces provided on the Flovent Diskus. The use by date is 6 weeks from the date of opening the Flovent Diskus. Hold the Diskus in one hand and put your thumb from your other hand on the thumbgrip. Push your thumb away from you as far as it goes until you see the mouthpiece and the outer case snaps into position. Hold the Diskus in a level, horizontal position with the mouthpiece towards you. Slide the lever away from you as far as it goes until it clicks. Breathe out as far as you can, holding the Diskus away from your mouth. Never breathe out into the mouthpiece. Put the mouthpiece to your lips. Breathe in quickly and deeply through the Diskus, and not your nose. Remove the inhaler from your mouth, and hold your breath for about 10 seconds or as long as you can. Then breathe out slowly. Close the Diskus shut by sliding your thumb back towards you unt
