A – Your puppy should ALWAYS be restrained by either a properly sized and fitted dog restraining lead/belt, which can be purchased from most vets or sometimes the supermarket. Another more convenient way is to have a small to medium sized transport cage that can be attached safely inside the vehicle for yours and the puppy’s safety in case of an accident on the way home. Although we DO NOT recommend the following this seems to be the most popular ways people transport their dogs – either held on their laps (Please, NO, NO, NO) or just sitting on the seat of the car. Either way is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS for the puppy and the other occupants in the car in case of an accident. We do not recommend this way but at the very least, and only if you must, have your puppy sit on the floor of the vehicle until you get home and can install a proper dog harness to your vehicle.
